RHEINZINK Material

RHEINZINK is an alloy of electrolytically refined zinc with a 99.995% degree of purity and accurately defined parts of copper and titanium.  In a single continuous operation, the raw material is melted, cast and wound onto steel coils.  These coils are used in further processing as universal source material, to produce high-quality products for the RHEINZINK gutter program and to produce finished parts, for roofing and facade cladding.  RHEINZINK is available in a "bright-rolled" finish,  as well as "Pre-weathered" blue-gray and graphite-gray.

Storage and Handling

RHEINZINK® products must always be transported and stored under dry and ventilated conditions. Therefore, open transportation should be avoided, particularly during changing weather conditions.  For optimum storage on the construction site, a dry, ventilated area should be requested from construction site administration.

If these rules are not complied with, there will be a build-up of zinc hydroxide.

The following steps shouldsteps should practiced at ALL times:

  • Provide ventilation to covered RHEINZINK® Materials
  • Store on a dry pallets on a on dry floor
  • Transport covered on dry pallets
  • Avoid tight stacking
  • Provide abrasion protection when transporting
  • Allow material to sit unopened for several days upon receipt to allow for acclimation to the storage areas temperature and humidity.
